I’ve been at Publicis Sapient for just over two years - 18-months of which have been during a global pandemic where, along with my colleagues, I have been largely working from home.

Being part of a strong, supportive, and collaborative team during this time has been invaluable to my wellbeing and reinforces the importance of community within an organization.

Being part of an entirely global team, especially a team made up of brilliant, passionate, and inspiring people from all over the world, different cultures, backgrounds, and professional careers means I am constantly in a state of learning. Learning not only about our company and the industry we work within, but also about how creativity stems best between diverse minds and how I can leverage my personal experiences to shape and improve my communications. As a Communications professional, this is invaluable.

I have always been passionate about mental health and wellbeing. I’ve witnessed first-hand how it can affect people, both in and out of the workplace, and the difference a robust support system and set of resources can make to an individual. The Covid-19 pandemic has been tough on everyone and has taken its toll in many ways. The critical need for prioritizing the mental health and wellbeing of ourselves, our family members, friends, colleagues, and employees has accelerated. And this is a positive we must take.

To me, being a Publicis Sapient Mental Health Ambassador means so much. I believe it is our responsibility as peers, colleagues, people managers, and people of society to put the wellbeing of ourselves and each other above all else.

“To me, being a Publicis Sapient Mental Health Ambassador means so much. I believe it is our responsibility as peers, colleagues, people managers, and people of society to put the wellbeing of ourselves and each other above all else.”

If I can make a difference to someone’s day either by lending a confidential ear or outlining support resources available, then I am playing my part.

I am proud to work for a company that proactively invests in peoples’ mental, physical, and emotional health and wellbeing. As well as being an accredited Mental Health First Aider, I have been actively involved in our Business Resource Group, Headline, which focuses solely on mental health and wellness.

As well as communicating the wide pool of resources available to employees, the Headline ambassadors work together to inform and equip Publicis Sapient people with the tools and skills to take control of their mental health and wellness through a program of events, workshops, talks, and more.

I am pleased that the societal stigma around mental health is gradually lifting, that people feel more comfortable being transparent about their struggles to inspire and educate others. One person’s story could be another person’s savior.

I think this World Mental Health Day is a poignant one as we take stock and reflect on the last year - where we are, where we want to be, and the change that each of us as individuals can make to support the mental health and wellbeing of ourselves and those closest to us.
