6 Months In: Lessons Learned as a Product Manager at Publicis Sapient

The start of a new job should be filled with learning and growth. Ariba, a product manager operating out of our Riyadh office, takes us through the lessons she’s learned over her first six months with Publicis Sapient.

After six months as a product manager at Publicis Sapient, I’ve had the opportunity to reflect on what makes this place truly unique and what I’ve learned so far.

Joining a new company is always an adjustment, but when you find one that aligns with your values and supports growth, the transition becomes not just smooth but inspiring. My journey here has been nothing short of transformative, filled with lessons that have kept me motivated, connected and continuously learning.

Here are my key takeaways for anyone stepping into a new role or aiming to make the most of their current one:

Stay true to your values.

Finding a company whose mission aligns with your values is like finding a coffee shop that gets your overly specific coffee order right every time. It’s important to have the company’s mission aligned with your personal and professional values for long-term motivation and engagement.

Publicis Sapient’s core values resonated with me immediately, and I realized during the interview process that these weren’t just buzzwords—people actually live by them. That alignment makes it easier to tackle challenges because you’re not just working; you’re working with purpose.

Embrace innovation.

“Embracing the future” is one of Publicis Sapient’s core values that truly resonates with me. Here, innovation isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a mindset that keeps both clients and professional careers moving forward. Leveraging AI to improve daily work enables us to provide quality deliverables to our clients. Being open to innovation gives us a competitive edge and helps bring fresh ideas forward. And when a company not only supports that but also encourages and enables it, it’s a win-win for both our clients and our own professional development.

Learn from others and share what you learn.

One of the most inspiring aspects of working at Publicis Sapient is the openness to sharing knowledge. Best practices are constantly being developed and shared among teams, creating an environment of collective learning. I’ve seen firsthand how this elevates not just individual growth but the success of entire teams. Sharing successes and failures alike creates a culture of collaboration that’s both enriching and rewarding.

Take pride in your work and strive to leave a positive legacy.

Working on projects tied to initiatives that contribute to the Saudi Vision has been both exciting and fulfilling. These projects allow us to solve complex problems and make a meaningful impact, transforming businesses and enhancing customer experiences. The sense of accomplishment when you see the impact of your work makes every long, coffee-fueled brainstorming session worth it.

Looking back on the past few months, I’m still figuring things out, but that’s part of the fun.
