In the last 25 years, I have witnessed the metamorphosis of Dubai from a busy trading hub of the Middle East to the epicenter of innovation with a booming digital economy. From shopping at a traditional souk (market) to shopping online at souq.com (now amazon.com), we have come a long way. I can’t help but think how much Dubai’s progress is linked to my professional accomplishments during my journey at Publicis Sapient.

 

Progressing towards a digital economy

The UAE has always been fast on its feet, from introducing new technology that enhances everyday life to transforming the business of major government entities. After Apple changed the world in 2004, everything had to be smart or smarter. From airlines and theme parks to hospitality, our team at Publicis Sapient had our hands full with the best projects in the region. Soon every agency and consulting firm in town worth its salt wanted a piece of this forward-thinking and innovative solutions company. Who wouldn’t?

 

Close encounter of a new kind

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed social interactions and the socio-economic structure of countries. It is unlike anything I have witnessed in my lifetime. Necessity being the mother of innovation, and Publicis Sapient being the creative force that it is, we have taken innovative measures to keep the wellbeing and safety of our people and their families as a top priority. We have done this while also managing workflow and project deliveries that maintain consistent growth.

Future belongs to the resilient

Although it may seem that there is no end to the predicament we are in, making the right decisions and maintaining a strong will to push through continue to be vital. To ensure a swift recovery, we must start looking at the resources we have and determine how to efficiently utilize them to ensure stable recovery. Together, we will succeed in this brave pursuit for a better tomorrow.

As I look back at my footprints in the sand, I feel a sense of pride in my adventures, and I believe that it would have been impossible without all those people I have worked with, my ex-colleagues, my ex-leaders, all my friends, and above all my family — at Publicis Sapient and at home — who have supported me and continue to encourage me in my journey. Thanks to PS, I cannot stop wondering what my next challenge will be!
