Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner / Product Manager to support a strategic payments platform programme within a complex, regulated environment. This role focuses on product ownership, backlog management, and functional analysis, ensuring clear requirements, stakeholder alignment, and delivery readiness across the payments ecosystem.

 

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring prioritisation aligns with programme goals and delivery timelines
  • Translate business and regulatory needs into epics, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, SMEs, architects, and delivery teams in an Agile environment
  • Define and maintain functional requirements, process flows, and implementation specifications
  • Ensure consistency across user journeys, backend services, and integration requirements
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and gaps, and support mitigation actions
  • Facilitate alignment between business, technical teams, and external providers
  • Support end-to-end delivery readiness, including sprint planning and backlog refinement
  • Contribute to change management and continuous platform improvement

Skills and Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as Product Owner, Product Manager, or Functional/Business Analyst
  • Strong background in payments, financial services, or regulated IT programmes
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and backlog management practices
  • Experience defining functional requirements, user stories, and process flows
  • Ability to work with technical teams and translate complex needs into clear requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to manage complexity and dependencies
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Nice to have: experience with payment platforms, digital banking, or large-scale financial infrastructures.
