Manager Finance
This role is for a Manager to join the Global Revenue Operations Team (GRO), focused on managing revenue recognition for the Publicis Sapient India entity. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition through review of client contracts, monthly revenue analysis, and ownership of reconciliations across revenue-related accounts.
You will work closely with teams across GRO, Client Finance, and Business Operations in India and overseas. The role also serves as an escalation point for revenue-related issues concerning India clients. Success in this position requires strong analytical capability, sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to upholding policies and procedures.
Your Impact:
- Month-End revenue accounting and Accuracy: Supporting financial reporting by ensuring accuracy and completeness of revenue through the month-end close process, including opening/closing of jobs, posting of Journal entries, blackline reconciliations, analysis of forecasted revenue versus actual results and partnering with the Client Finance team to research and resolve issues.
- Revenue Compliance: Ensuring compliance with Group Policies and IFRS 15 by reviewing and analysing client contracts and supporting accurate job set-up in Salesforce and SAP.
- Audit Compliance: Ensuring compliance with group controls to meet all internal and external audit requirements, including managing auditor relationships and supporting audit requests to help achieve clean audit opinions.
- Working Capital management: Driving improvements in financial performance and cash flow by partnering with Client Finance and Business Operations teams to substantiate and clear balance sheet accounts through invoicing and clean-up activities.
- Reporting Analysis: Liaising with the Controllership team to support monthly reporting, including fluctuation analysis and ageing review of unbilled revenue.
- Stakeholder Support: Managing relationships across the business outside the GRO team, including advising on revenue recognition matters, job set-up queries, and the impact of client or job changes on revenue and margins
- Balance Sheet Control: Owning revenue-related balance sheet controls, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Qualifications
Your Skills & Experience:
- Month-End revenue accounting and Accuracy: Supporting financial reporting by ensuring accuracy and completeness of revenue through the month-end close process, including opening/closing of jobs, posting of Journal entries, blackline reconciliations, analysis of forecasted revenue versus actual results and partnering with the Client Finance team to research and resolve issues.
- Inquisitive and proactive: A strong desire to understand how things work and take initiative on new and challenging tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Revenue Expertise:Proven experience in a similar role within the finance department.Ability to research and resolve complex revenue accounting issues, including application of IFRS 15. Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.Basic knowledge of tax laws, including GST and TDS.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyse large amounts of data and provide meaningful insights.Innovative and out-of-the-box thinking to solve complex financial issues.
- Analytical and solution-oriented:Experience in creating and interpreting financial data, identifying issues, and proposing practical solutions.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders at various levels.
- Ownership and accountability: Ability to work independently, take responsibility, meet tight deadlines, and prioritise tasks with strong organisational skills.
- People Management as well as Individual contributor:
- Experience managing team workloads, overseeing responsibilities, and coaching and developing others.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excel Proficiency:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and advanced formulae.
- Automation/Process efficiency
- SAP Knowledge: Experience with SAP is advantageous.
Educational Qualifications:
- Full or part qualified accountant preferred (ICAI/ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- 7+ years of experience
