Job Description

Tremend is looking for a Data Product Owner who will own the functional data layer between source systems and the Databricks lakehouse, clarifying what data is needed, why, how it’s structured, and how it should land so engineering teams can build reliable pipelines.
Responsibilities:

  • Specify critical fields, nullability rules, lineage, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with data governance teams on data ownership, access control, and compliance requirements.

4. Delivery Enablement

  • Produce functional specifications, source-to-target mappings, and transformation logic.
  • Support data engineers during implementation and validate delivered data against business expectations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, quants/operations, and data engineering teams.

Key Deliverables:

  • Source system maps and entity-relationship views
  • Ingestion requirement documents and a prioritized data roadmap

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and lakehouse concepts, preferably with Databricks.
  • Hands-on experience working with complex source systems (e.g. trading, risk, finance, or operations platforms).
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear data requirements and functional specifications.
  • Solid understanding of data quality, data governance, lineage, and auditability principles.
  • Experience working closely with data engineering teams on ingestion and transformation pipelines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
