Job Description

We are looking for a Data Product Owner with strong hands-on experience in data analytics and a solid understanding of data platforms, reporting, and BI solutions, within the Retail industry. This role sits at the intersection of business, data, and technology, driving the development of data products that deliver measurable value.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the vision, roadmap and backlog for data products (reports, dashboards, data services)
  • Define and refine reporting and analytics requirements in collaboration with retail business stakeholders (ex: sales, marketing, operations, supply chain)
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories and data specifications for data engineers and analysts
  • Work closely with data engineering teams on data pipelines, data models and analytics solutions
  • Challenge and contribute to architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance and data quality
  • Oversee the development of dashboards and reports (Power BI or similar), ensuring usability and business relevance
  • Enable data-driven decision-making across key retail domains (ex. customer behavior, sales performance, inventory, pricing)
  • Support data extraction, validation and interpretation to ensure accuracy and business trust

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Data Product Owner / Product Owner / Senior Business Analyst in Retail environments
  • Hands-on experience in data analytics, reporting or dashboard development (Power BI or similar BI tools)
  • Strong understanding of retail data domains (sales, customers, products, supply chain, promotions)
  • Solid knowledge of data pipelines, data modeling and analytics workflows
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (data engineers, analysts, business stakeholders)
  • Ability to bridge business and technical perspectives and challenge solutions constructively
  • Experience in backlog management, prioritization and Agile delivery
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Experience with omnichannel retail, eCommerce or loyalty programs
  • Exposure to SQL, APIs or modern data architectures (ex. cloud data platforms)
  • Background in consulting or complex, multi-stakeholder environments
