Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Manager / Director Technology to lead initiatives across large‑scale data platforms and mission‑critical applications for a global Travel & Hospitality enterprise.
 
This role sits at the intersection of deep technical expertise, architectural ownership, delivery leadership, and client engagement.
 
You will lead and rotate across multiple programs, owning solution design, architectural direction, technical execution, and executive‑level communication. While the role is strategic and client‑facing, it requires maintaining current technical judgment and the ability to engage directly when needed, particularly in architecture, production issues, and complex system‑level decisions.
 
You are expected to act as a senior technical authority—someone others escalate to for architectural direction, production risk, and critical trade‑offs.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Senior‑level background in Software Engineering, with strong prior hands‑on experience in Java and/or Scala Python.
  • Proven experience designing, evolving, and governing microservices architectures and large‑scale distributed systems.
  • Experience working with real‑time data platforms, streaming systems, and event‑driven architectures.
  • Strong understanding of cloud‑native architectures, with hands‑on or decision‑level experience on AWS.
  • Demonstrated ability to debug, profile, and troubleshoot complex production systems, even when not hands‑on day‑to‑day.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage both deeply technical teams and non‑technical executive stakeholders.

Industry Experience

Experience in one or more of the following domains is strongly preferred:
  • Travel & Hospitality
  • Loyalty Programs
  • Customer Engagement Platforms
  • Retail or large‑scale consumer digital platforms
Experience operating enterprise‑scale platforms serving large customer bases and handling peak traffic patterns is highly valued.

Leadership Expectations

  • Operates with a high degree of autonomy and minimal oversight.
  • Fully accountable for initiatives from inception through execution and measurable business impact.
  • Leads through technical credibility, sound judgment, and delivery ownership.
  • Serves as a trusted technical and strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders, particularly in complex or high‑pressure situations.
  • Balances strategic thinking with the ability to engage deeply in technical and production realities when required.

 

Contract modality: This position is open either for a Permanent or a Contractor modality in Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Peru and Argentina.
