Associate Director, Business Development, Life Sciences and Manufacturing, DACH
Job Description
Publicis Sapient is looking for a Senior Manager of Business Development to accelerate our growth across the DACH region, with a strong focus on the Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences and Manufacturing sectors. The role holder will use various channels available to source new accounts, execute a strategic sales approach where (often) they will be the lead PS representative and will form and direct teams to progress opportunities, nurture and grow the accounts they recruit.

Core duties and responsibilities will include:
- Drive Growth: Build and own a strong sales pipeline across Pharmaceuticals/Life Sciences and Manufacturing accounts in DACH
- Market Expansion: Open new logos and expand existing relationships in Pharmaceuticals/Life Sciences and Manufacturing
- Client Engagement: Lead C-and C-1 level conversations across business and technology stakeholders regarding digital business transformation
- Thought Leadership: Position Publicis Sapient as a strategic partner in industry-specific transformation (e.g. commercial transformation, supply chain, digital manufacturing, customer engagement)
- Compelling pitching: Develop tailored sales pitches, proposals, and presentations to effectively address client needs
- End-to-End Ownership: From opportunity identification to deal closure in relation to consulting and delivery work
- Develop seed opportunities into larger scope deals by cross selling the entire PS service portfolio through the early stages of the selling cycle to the proposal stage
- Ensure that PS gets invited to competitive RFPs in areas of significant advantage for PS
- Solutioning: Shape differentiated propositions across digital, data, AI, and enterprise platforms
- Collaboration: Work with global delivery teams (India, Eastern Europe, LATAM) to deliver scalable solutions
- Own quarterly and annual new bookings targets to ensure contractual arrangements meet defined commercials goals whilst reflecting opportunities in the CRM
Qualifications
- Sales experience gained by selling digital business transformation/DBT professional services and digital delivery solutions to either Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences or Manufacturing clients in DACH - likely in an account management/client partner or business development remit.
- Experience driving revenue growth and closing large scale DBT deals (that encompass both consulting and delivery) with Germany’s leading Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences or Manufacturing companies.
- Strong industry network within DACH’s leading companies in Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences or Manufacturing sectors.
- Ability and willingness to operate as both a business development lead/hunter and to a smaller extent client partner/farmer for the assigned industries of Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences or Manufacturing.
- Subject matter expertise and the ability to speak to C-/C-1 level customer stakeholders on key industry themes. These are likely to include: commercial excellence, patient engagement, content supply chain, regulatory-aware platforms for Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences and digital supply chain, Industry 4.0, smart factories, data platforms for Manufacturing.
- Strong commercial acumen: experience of managing a multi-million revenue target and negotiating multimillion deals that capture DBT consulting and delivery work.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills in order to work with the client C-/C-1 level and internal senior management.
- Entrepreneurial and ownership-driven approach to building and nurturing a new industry vertical personally and from scratch.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid and high-growth focussed environment.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience of working with global teams in support of customer goals.
- Fluent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
- Fluent written and oral communication skills in German are desirable.
