Senior Manager Data Engineering

As a Senior Manager, Data Engineering at Publicis Sapient, you will guide clients through complex data challenges, architecting and implementing innovative solutions that drive digital transformation. Your expertise will shape large-scale data ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics in mostly cloud environments. You will lead discussions on key Data Engineering topics such as data models, data storage, performance optimization, security, DevOps, and test automation.

This role requires a hands-on approach, working collaboratively with other Data specialists in a culture that values continuous learning and knowledge sharing. You will take a leading role in driving the growth of our Data Engineering capability to successfully advise clients on improving their Data Architecture to support future ambitions.

You will work closely with clients across industries, helping them navigate their digital transformation journeys by delivering scalable, high-quality data solutions.

Your Impact

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of data engineering engagements with Fortune 500 clients, aligning solutions to business strategy and outcomes.
• Architect enterprise-scale data platforms and pipelines in cloud environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
• Shape and influence client roadmaps, collaborating with stakeholders to define long-term data strategies and modern architecture.
• Guide technical teams on design patterns, data governance, DevOps, testing, and performance optimization.
• Serve as a thought leader within Publicis Sapient, contributing to capability growth, coaching team members, and representing the firm in the broader data community.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging data tools and frameworks, ensuring relevance and innovation in client solutions.

• Proven leadership in Data Engineering, with a deep understanding of modern Data Architecture and its application to business transformation.
• Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, with practical experience in Microsoft Azure and technologies such as ADF, Synapse, and Databricks/Spark.
• Advanced experience designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and distributed systems.
• Expertise in Python and SQL, with deep knowledge of performance tuning, sharding, partitioning, and indexing.
• Strategic understanding of database technologies including relational, NoSQL, and cloud-native storage solutions.
• Experience leading DevOps practices for data engineering—CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure-as-code.
• Strong experience advising clients, structuring complex technical problems, and leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-value outcomes.

Set Yourself Apart With

• Experience in machine learning or AI solution deployment and data integration.
• Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of data security, governance, cataloging, and lineage tools.
• Active contribution to the Data Engineering community (conferences, blogs, POCs, hackathons).
• Certifications in Azure or other relevant cloud/data technologies.
• Prior experience collaborating with Software Engineering and Platform teams.
