
Job Description
As a Manager in Quality Engineering with a focus on Functional Testing, you will lead teams in delivering robust testing strategies that ensure the delivery of high-quality digital solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of manual and automated functional test cases, working closely with stakeholders to validate business requirements and support successful delivery across agile programs. Your leadership will help drive best practices in testing and quality assurance, ensuring our clients receive value-driven, defect-free software.
Your Impact:
- Lead and manage a team of functional testers across one or more projects, providing mentorship, technical direction, and career development support.
- Define, implement, and maintain functional testing strategies and processes in alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and product owners to understand requirements and translate them into test cases and acceptance criteria.
- Drive the development and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate business functionality.
- Identify and document defects and work with development teams to ensure resolution and retesting.
- Report test progress, results, and quality metrics to stakeholders and senior management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the QE practice including the integration of test automation in functional testing.
- Ensure compliance with testing standards, tools, and best practices.
- Support UAT planning and coordination with business teams.
Skills & Experience:
- Must be willing to go on-site 4 days a week.
- 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a test leadership or managerial role.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and test methodologies in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience in designing and executing functional, regression, integration, and system-level tests.
- Solid knowledge of test case management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
- Proven ability to lead functional QA efforts across multiple teams or workstreams.
- Experience in requirement analysis and translating business requirements into functional test scenarios.
- Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber) and willingness to collaborate with automation teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior QA professionals and foster a culture of quality.

Pay Range:
$108,000 - $158,000 The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Publicis Sapient. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
