Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Data Product Owner who has end-to-end experience with data products, not just business applications. You will own data and reporting products used across multiple brands and markets, working closely with data engineers, BI developers and data architects to turn data into actionable insights for business teams. This is a hands-on data role: you should be comfortable discussing data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, BI semantic layers and AI/ML use cases, not only business processes and roadmaps.
Key Outcomes
Within the first 12–18 months, you will:
- Deliver at least one major data product / reporting solution end-to-end (from discovery to adoption) across multiple markets or brands.
- Improve data quality, consistency, and reporting speed for key use cases (ex. marketing performance, sales, operations, customer behavior).
- Define and maintain a clear data product roadmap, aligned with business strategy and technical realities (data platform constraints, performance, cost).
- Drive user adoption of dashboards / reports / data products, with measurable usage and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Ownership & Delivery
- Own the vision, roadmap, and backlog for one or more data products / reporting domains.
- Translate business questions into data requirements (sources, metrics, dimensions, grain, refresh frequency).
- Write clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria for:
- Data ingestion / integration
- Data modelling (star schemas, data marts, semantic models)
- Dashboards / reports / self-service analytics
- Work closely with data engineers, BI developers and data architects to ensure solutions are:
- Technically feasible
- Scalable and performant
- Documented and maintainable
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary contact for your data product(s) for business stakeholders (ex. marketing, sales, finance, operations).
- Facilitate discovery workshops to understand business needs, KPIs and decision flows.
- Communicate priorities, timelines, risks and dependencies in a structured way to senior stakeholders.
Data Ecosystem & Governance
- Understand the end-to-end data journey: from data collection (source systems) to integration, modelling and consumption (dashboards / APIs).
- Ensure data definitions, KPIs and dimensions are consistent across brands and markets.
- Support data governance and privacy initiatives (data ownership, access control, data quality rules, compliance with GDPR etc.).
Client-Facing & Adoption
- Represent the data product in client / business-facing sessions: Demos, show-and-tell sessions, Q&A
- Onboarding and training for new users
- Support change management when moving teams from legacy reports/excel to new data platforms and dashboards.
AI & Advanced Analytics
- Identify concrete AI / advanced analytics use cases, such as:
- Anomaly detection in performance data
- Churn / conversion prediction
- Customer or campaign clustering / segmentation
- Work with data scientists / ML engineers to integrate models into products:
- Define the use case
- Clarify success metrics
- Ensure outputs are consumable via dashboards, APIs, or alerts.
Required Experience (Must-Haves)
Please only apply if you meet most of the points below:
- 5+ years in Product Ownership / Product Management, with at least 3 years focused on data products, BI, analytics or data platforms.
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end data / reporting solutions (not just business applications).
Hands-on experience working with:
- BI tools: preferably Power BI (others like Tableau/Qlik are a plus).
- Data platforms: ex. AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar.
- Data teams: data engineers, BI devs, data architects, possibly data scientists.
Demonstrated work in a complex environment, ideally:
- Multi-brand, multi-country or multi-BU ecosystem
- Multiple stakeholder groups and competing priorities
Strong understanding of:
- Data modelling concepts (dimensions, facts, metrics, grain)
- Data pipelines / ETL / ELT
- Reporting architectures and self-service analytics
- Experience designing or productizing AI / advanced analytics use cases (in collaboration with DS/ML teams).
- Experience in automotive or other large-scale international environments.
- Experience with data governance frameworks (data ownership, data quality, catalogues, lineage).
- Experience with marketing / campaign data, customer analytics, or digital product analytics.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent stakeholder management: can say “no” with arguments, build trust and align conflicting priorities.
- Ability to translate business language into data requirements and vice versa.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Comfortable working in Agile (Scrum / Kanban / SAFe) with distributed teams.
- Clear and concise communication in English (written and spoken).
