VP Data Engineering

As the VP of Data Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our data engineering strategy, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our data platforms. You will work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to drive innovation and deliver high-impact data solutions that power our digital transformation initiatives.

Your Impact

• Define and drive the data engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical best practices.
• Lead a high-performing team of data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Architect and implement scalable, high-performance data platforms that support real-time and batch processing needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices are embedded into all data engineering initiatives.
• Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring our data engineering capabilities remain cutting-edge.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
• Partner with senior leadership to define and track key performance indicators for data engineering initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building and scaling data platforms.
• Proven experience leading large-scale data engineering initiatives in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Expertise in big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
• Experience with real-time data processing, streaming analytics, and event-driven architectures.
• Deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and drive alignment across teams.
