Senior QE Automation Engineer

Tremend is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer who combines strong technical skills with a leadership mindset. You’ll be hands-on in delivering quality across Web, API, and backend layers, while also helping to shape QE practices, mentor peers, and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Your Impact

• Design and drive test strategies for complex projects across Web and API layers.
• Build and maintain robust automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
• Ensure end-to-end test coverage and traceability from requirements to production.
• Integrate quality throughout the SDLC using a Shift-Left approach.
• Mentor QE engineers through reviews, coaching, and structured feedback.
• Contribute to QE craft standards, tooling decisions, and process evolution.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical input and effort estimations when required.

Your Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Quality Engineering.
• Expertise in testing REST and SOAP APIs and web-based applications.
• Proven, hands-on experience with the Karate framework for API testing.
• Strong experience building and maintaining web automation frameworks using Selenium and TestNG.
• Practical experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber and API testing libraries such as REST Assured.
• Deep proficiency in Java, including a strong grasp of:
  • Object-Oriented and Functional Programming principles
  • Data Structures, Algorithms, and Collections (Sequential & Associative)
  • Generics, File I/O, and Multithreading
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Solid grasp of Agile methodologies and Shift-Left testing principles.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and collaboration skills.
• Mobile automation experience is a plus.
• ISTQB or equivalent certification is appreciated.
