Senior Data Engineer (Scala + AWS)

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Big Data solutions. You will work with large datasets, real-time processing frameworks, and cloud-based data platforms to enable data-driven decision-making for our clients.

Your Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a strong focus on building data solutions using Scala and Apache Spark.

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL workflows on AWS (e.g., EMR, Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, S3, Redshift).

• Proficiency in Scala for data processing, along with experience in SQL and optionally Python for complementary tasks.

• Solid understanding of distributed computing, data storage, and processing architectures in cloud environments.

• Experience with AWS-native data services and their integration for batch and streaming data.

• Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.

Set Yourself Apart With

• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming analytics using AWS Kinesis or Kafka.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes for deploying Big Data workloads.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks in AWS.
• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

This is a full time 100% Remote contractor agreement running through December 31, 2025, with high possibility of extension.
