Job Description
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring engineering excellence across the portfolio. You’ll work closely with senior client stakeholders and internal leadership (e.g., John Pendleton, US) to coach senior managers, guide technical decision-making, and lead cross-pod architecture integration. You will also engage in staffing, estimation, client consulting, and ensure scalable, maintainable delivery across teams.
Your Impact:
- Lead a high-performing network of ~40 senior managers, indirectly supporting hundreds of engineers across global pods, and promoting engineering excellence, accountability, and quality
- Coach and develop talent at scale, identifying capability gaps and enabling technical growth across distributed teams
- Act as a senior escalation point for architecture validation, production troubleshooting, and legacy refactoring decisions
- Guide strategic architectural direction—especially in microservices, data pipelines, and AI integrations—to ensure scalable and maintainable outcomes
- Drive alignment across architecture domains and promote adoption of DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native standards, and AI-assisted testing practices
- Partner with client and internal stakeholders to oversee project health, staffing, and delivery KPIs, ensuring organizational visibility and risk mitigation
- Lead discussions with engineering teams to validate technical proposals and approve go/no-go decisions in architecture reviews
- Empower engineering teams to leverage platforms such as Azure OpenAI to modernize codebases and boost testing coverage
- Deliver regular insights to client and leadership stakeholders on engineering health, velocity, and continuous improvement opportunities
Your Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of hands-on full-stack software development experience, with expertise in large-scale enterprise systems
- Advanced fluency in English (C1 level)—both written and spoken—with experience communicating directly with clients and stakeholders in fully English-speaking environments
- Strong experience in .NET (preferred), Java, and designing scalable backend architectures using microservices and API-first strategies
- Proficiency in frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue, ensuring full solution coverage across the stack
- Proven ability to deliver cloud-native systems using Azure, AWS, or GCP, with integrated CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
- Deep knowledge of engineering principles like SOLID, DRY, and Clean Code, with a successful track record of enforcing these standards across teams
- Extensive experience in Scrum-based Agile delivery, working with distributed and multicultural teams across time zones
- Previous success delivering within regulated environments, such as healthcare, insurance, or finance, where security and compliance are essential
Set Yourself Apart With:
- Experience implementing AI-powered features or working on AI-augmented platforms
- Strong background in building and scaling CI/CD pipelines, with deep knowledge of automated testing and DevOps maturity
- Comfort navigating and leading across multi-time-zone, multi-cultural environments
- Passion for driving team engagement, boosting participation in engineering communities, and fostering psychological safety
- Ability to influence and mentor other engineering leaders, shaping organizational standards and long-term talent strategy
A Tip from the Hiring Manager: “This is a role for someone who thrives in complexity, drives clarity at scale, and truly believes in the power of coaching leaders, not just code.”
