Agile Program Manager - Release Train Engineer - Financial Services

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) with expert knowledge in Scaled Agile delivery practices to lead Agile Release Trains (ARTs) ideally across enterprise banking environments. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive agile maturity, coordinate cross-squad collaboration, and ensure enterprise-level delivery readiness. 
 
You will act as a servant leader and coach for Agile Release Trains, ensuring effective alignment between squads, stakeholders, and product leadership. Your primary responsibility will be enabling continuous delivery of value, facilitating key SAFe events, and driving execution excellence. 

Your Impact 

  • Drive program-level execution by aligning teams to a common vision and roadmap. 
  • Ensure the ART’s backlog is visible, transparent, and prioritized. 
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Architects, and stakeholders to enable program increment (PI) planning and execution. 
  • Coach teams on Agile best practices and SAFe principles. 
  • Identify and remove systemic impediments and drive continuous improvement across delivery. 

Must Have Skills 

  • Expert understanding of Scaled Agile methodologies and practices. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate RTE activities across large-scale programs, such as: 
    • Progressive Elaboration 
    • Domain / Squad Engagement 
    • Testing Strategy (deep understanding across all layers) 
    • Scrum of Scrums Facilitation 
    • Estimation of Story Points 
    • Estimating and forecasting $ for internal squads 
    • Change Management Processes 
    • Production Readiness 
    • Program / Project Status Reporting 
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and coordination skills across distributed teams. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proven ability to work across Product, Engineering, and PMO functions. 

Should Have Skills 

  • Experience with banking and financial services technologies and delivery frameworks. 
  • Confluence or similar knowledge management tool experience. 

Could Have Skills 

  • Experience using Rally (Agile Central) for Agile program management and tracking. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in Progressive Elaboration as a planning approach. 
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements within the financial services sector (e.g., APRA, CPS 230, PCI-DSS). 
  • Experience using Rally PM tool 

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in Agile delivery roles, including 2+ years as an RTE, Project Manager, or Agile Project Lead. 
  • Financial services experience with strong domain knowledge in banking operations. 
  • Strong track record of leading Agile Release Trains or similar constructs in large-scale enterprise environments.
