Senior Manager - Data Engineering

As a Senior Manager, Data Engineering at Publicis Sapient, you will guide clients through complex data challenges, architecting and implementing innovative solutions that drive digital transformation. Your expertise will shape large-scale data ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics in mostly cloud environments. You will lead discussions on key Data Engineering topics such as data models, data storage, performance optimization, security, DevOps, and test automation.

This role requires a hands-on approach, working collaboratively with other Data specialists in a culture that values continuous learning and knowledge sharing. You will take a leading role in driving the growth of our Data Engineering capability to successfully advise clients on improving their Data Architecture to support future ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a trusted advisor to clients by leveraging data for customer acquisition and engagement as part of large digital transformation journeys.
• Work closely with our client s providing evaluation and recommendations of design patterns and solutions for data platforms, with a focus on ETL, ELT, ALT, lambda, and kappa architectures.
• Define SLAs, SLIs, and SLOs with inputs from clients, product owners, and engineers to deliver data-driven interactive experiences to our clients.
• Provide expertise, proof-of-concept, prototype, and reference implementations of architectural solutions for cloud, on-prem, hybrid, and edge-based data platforms.
• Provide technical inputs to agile processes, such as epic, story, and task definition to resolve issues and remove barriers throughout the lifecycle of client engagements.
• Creation and maintenance of infrastructure-as-code for cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Helm, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Mentor, support, and manage team members on design patterns, data governance, DevOps, testing, and performance optimization.

Must-Have:

• Proven leadership in Data Engineering, with a deep understanding of modern Data Architecture and its application to business transformation.
• Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, with practical experience in hyperscaler platforms.
• Advanced experience designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and distributed systems.
• Expertise in Python and SQL, with deep knowledge of performance tuning, sharding, partitioning, and indexing.
• Strategic understanding of database technologies including relational, NoSQL, and cloud-native storage solutions.
• Experience leading DevOps practices for data engineering—CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure-as-code.
• Demonstrated experience in growing team capability and developing talent.
• Excellent written, verbal, numerical, and presentation skills, with experience consulting to C-level clients.
• Willingness to travel and work on client sites to deliver exceptional, high-impact services.
