A journey rooted in curiosity

 

When Rajat Pahuja joined Publicis Sapient in January 2016 as an intern, he had no idea that this would be the place where he’d spend the next nine years mastering his craft.

 

From the very beginning, Rajat found himself immersed in a workplace where ideas held greater value than hierarchy, and experimentation was actively encouraged. "I was fortunate to join a team that empowered me to try, learn, and contribute right from the outset," Rajat reflects. Just three years later, he was at the helm of Central Quality Engineering delivery for one of Publicis Sapient's major financial services clients. In this role, he managed workstreams and became a guiding force, with even more seasoned engineers seeking his direction.

The AI shift

In 2022, a new chapter began. Rajat relocated to London to work closely with clients, deepening his business understanding and relationships. Around the same time, the world was waking up to the possibilities of Generative AI. For Rajat, it was more than a trend,—it was an opportunity to redefine quality engineering.

He and his team began exploring how AI could streamline everything from test data generation to automated code reviews. The results were game-changing—processes that once took days could now be completed in hours, and entire testing phases could be automated.

Innovation with purpose

A particularly noteworthy project involved leveraging AI to design and develop a comprehensive automation suite for a strategic client program. By integrating AI agents, prompt libraries, and the client's existing frameworks, Rajat's team achieved efficiency gains of up to 60% while maintaining uncompromised quality.

“Innovation here isn’t just about tools; it’s about solving real problems for clients,” Rajat says. “The best ideas come when you understand the business, not just the code.”

Leading by example

As a leader, Rajat believes in trust, transparency and continuous learning. He encourages his teams to understand why something is being built, not just how to build it. “If you know the purpose, you can always find the best way to achieve it,” he shares.

He also invests time in mentoring others—sharing AI prompting techniques, building internal AI tools like the Sapient Slingshot prompt library, and inspiring others to explore new possibilities in Quality Engineering.
