Solution Architect (Java, Google Cloud) - Specialist Platform - Financial Services

Tremend is looking for a hands-on Senior Architect to design and deliver end‑to‑end, API‑driven solutions on Google Cloud. The role combines strong architectural ownership with hands‑on development and active stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Design end‑to‑end system architectures using Domain‑Driven Design (DDD) and API‑first principles
• Define and govern integration architectures, including layered workflows, authentication, and authorization
• Lead architecture reviews and present designs to technical design authorities, ensuring sign‑off through clear, high‑quality documentation
• Own and address non‑functional requirements such as scalability, security, resilience, and operational readiness
• Actively contribute to implementation, with ~40% hands‑on coding in Java
• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across multiple forums to drive alignment and buy‑in

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in Java and API‑based system design
• Proven expertise in integration design patterns and distributed systems
• Experience designing for cloud‑native environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Deep understanding of security, scalability, and operationalisation concerns
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Nice to Have:

• Insurance domain knowledge is highly appreciated
• Proven usage of AI Agents and tools (like Slingshot or alternatives)
