Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to lead the end‑to‑end re‑architecture of our global payment system. This role will design a modern, scalable, secure, multi‑region payment ecosystem that integrates multiple payment service providers (PSPs), gateways, and financial partners. You’ll be responsible for the full architecture across data flows, API design, transaction orchestration, compliance, and security—ensuring the platform can scale across countries and support high‑value aviation transactions.

This position is ideal for someone who has deep experience with global payment providers, PCI-sensitive environments, and enterprise‑grade payment gateway design.

Your Impact

Payment System Re‑Architecture
- Lead the full redesign of our global payments platform.
- Define modular, API-first architectures that support multi-region deployment.
- Develop the target-state design for authorization, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting flows.
Multi‑Provider & Multi‑Region Integration
- Design integrations with multiple PSPs, acquirers, and gateways (e.g., Adyen, Stripe, and Elavon).
- Architect scalable solutions that support expansion into the US, EU, and LATAM.
- Build routing and orchestration capabilities to optimize performance, cost, and reliability.
Data Flow, Security & Compliance
- Own architecture for secure handling of sensitive data, including cardholder and payment credentials.
- Implement tokenization strategies and vaulting approaches.
- Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, PSD2, 3DS2, and regional regulations.
- Design data lineage, data flow diagrams, and secure event-driven pipelines.
API & Gateway Architecture
- Lead the design of robust APIs for payment processing, credit workflows, direct bill, and alternative payment rails.
- Ensure idempotency, retry logic, tracing, and high-availability patterns.
- Architect gateways and microservices to support CP, CNP, and aviation-specific workflows.
Scalability, Observability & Reliability
- Define architecture patterns that support high-volume, global transactions.
- Implement monitoring, dashboards, alerting, and audit trails.
- Ensure platform resilience, failover capabilities, and disaster recovery readiness.
Cross‑Functional Partnership
- Work closely with Product, Treasury, Operations, and Engineering teams.
- Support vendor evaluation and technical due‑diligence.
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical roadmaps.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

14–18 years in payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure architecture.
Proven experience redesigning or architecting enterprise‑grade payment platforms.
Hands-on experience with PSPs, acquirers, and payment gateways.
Deep understanding of:
- API-driven payment flows
- Secure card data handling (PCI, tokenization)
- Card-present & card-not-present flows
- Authorization, settlement, and reconciliation cycles
Experience designing systems that operate across multiple regions/countries.
Strong knowledge of data flow design, event-driven systems, and secure cloud architectures.

Set Yourself Apart With

Experience implementing direct bill / B2B credit workflows.
