Job Location: 1515 North Courthouse Road, Arlington, VA 22201. Will work from Company Office (Arlington, VA) and various unanticipated client sites and Sapient offices nationally; Telecommuting available on a hybrid basis at company discretion.


Job Type: Full Time

 

Rate of Pay: $160,000 - $168,000 per year


Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon, but not limited to, the individual s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.


Duties: Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming data from various sources. Ensure data quality, reliability, and integrity. Define and maintain the data architecture and infrastructure, including data storage systems, databases, and data warehouses. Optimize data structures and schemas for performance and scalability. Identify areas for process improvement and automation within data engineering workflows. Implement best practices, tools, and technologies to optimize efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance productivity. Establish coding standards, reusable job and ensure the team compliance. Monitor data pipelines, databases, and systems to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize for efficiency. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data processes. Collaborate with product team, analysts, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide the necessary infrastructure and support. Create and maintain technical documentation, including data pipeline workflows, data models, system architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Plan and manage data engineering projects, including resource allocation, timelines, and deliverables.

Qualifications

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Position also requires one year of experience in each of the following: 

 

1. Python 
2. Spark 
3. Hadoop 
4. Sqoop 
5. AWS Glue, Pentaho, Abinitio, or Datastage 
6. Java 
7. JavaScript 
8. Control-M 
9. ETL 
10. SQL 
11. Unix.
