10 years ago, while living in India, I was looking to join a company where I could explore and enhance my creativity. I came with a rather unconventional background – I’ve lived in China, Japan, and London with an education in Music technology; experience across communications, marketing, telecom, and a role as a primetime producer and anchor on India’s biggest lifestyle TV channel.
During my interview at Publicis Sapient, I could sense that this was the opportunity I had been seeking. I was interviewed by a VP at a café just below the office. In the 30 minutes, I was asked how I would tackle certain situations, what I’m passionate about, and how I can influence change. By the time we finished our coffee, I was offered the role.
Within my first year at Publicis Sapient, I put my words into action and built a fully developed Film Production capability. I led the transformation of the studio from an in-house team offering creative services in India, to a post-production solutions hub for our global organization. Seeing a need for a cost-effective way to cater to the growing demand for video, in 2010, we also quickly scaled to become a client offering, winning multiple advertising industry awards. Through this process, I learned how leadership at Publicis Sapient will listen to you, understand you, and help support your vision. Accessibility to senior leadership has helped shape me as an individual. Over the years, I have felt acknowledged and appreciated for my work, providing ample opportunities to better my craft.
This proved to be true in 2016 when I was given the opportunity to move to California – a life-changing moment for me. I’d been offered the chance to continue solving problems for the world’s largest organizations, all while doing what I love, in a brand-new and exciting environment. Again, I was reminded of the strong support structure at Publicis Sapient.
